Presenting new work from Hannah Emerson, showing from March 18 - April 8, 2016.
Hannah Emerson is a 33 year old artist with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She does not use traditional spoken language to communicate, instead she chooses to communicate through art. These paintings are a product of that communication.
Hannah paints daily.
Her medium is tempera and acrylic paint on board.
Hannah is a process painter. Her focus is on the repetitive application of paint onto a surface. Though she uses a similar process to paint each painting, she makes different directional and linear decisions each time. The end results are textural fields of color that have linear patterns linking together the piece as a whole. The lines she's painted melt away to become colorful landscapes that become whatever the viewer dreams them to be.
An opening reception will be held on March 18, 2016 from 6pm - 9pm in conjunction with Salt Lake Gallery Stroll.
